Barack'O'Lantern

Last Friday night Josh and I were laying in bed and I told him I wanted to carve a pumpkin. When he asked me what I would carve, I was my usual weird smarty-pants self and said, naturally, "Obama's face". Josh said, "Youre going to make an Obumpkin?"... and not to be outdone, I told him, "No. It's a Barack'O'Lantern!". We had a good laugh and went to sleep.

The next day when I was at work I got a text from Josh that said, "Don't hate me". Then a second text came, "I bought barackolantern.com and YesWeCarve.com". In the span of that day alone, Josh got together two friends to help him out with the logistics and extra wittiness (Yes We Carve! Jason rules.).

Thanks to several sleepless nights, Josh had graphics, stencils, and photos up on an amazing site and two days after that THOUSANDS of people had laughed at our silly bedroom banter. Yesterday it was mentioned on a Newsweek blog and today Josh and the boys did an interview with The Hill.

This has all been such a blast and we are so stoked that this has brought a little touch of joy into such a CRAZY week in America.

Visit Yes We Carve and carve away!

That's awesome! I have a stencil printed out and hope to get a pumpkin carved this weekend. In my heart, I will be carving it with you ;)

I think we will find, in the very near future, that the Hortys have created a monster.
