And the livin' is easy

June has been a big month for the Hortons. Josh just started his new job working for a nonprofit and for our church. He will be working with a really great group of people who seem to be really supportive of all his big business ideas for Memphis and beyond. In his free time he has perfected the use of our Webber grill and can make one mean turkey burger.

Though it's getting hot we are trying to do fun outside stuff on the weekends, one of which outings resulted in Wilkes getting a big tick in her arm pit and after a botched home surgery, a trip to see her vet.

I am enjoying cooking and trying my hand at healthy, low-fat baking. The healthy baking, and my new personal trainer are direct results of too many high-fat baking nights. This weekend I plan to bake some whole-wheat peanut butter treats for Wilkes.

Wilkes is doing good. Her stomach problems are getting better and she is looking pretty stinking cute with her new summer haircut. She likes sassing us and using her paws like hands. I really like her.
